What is a Firewall?
A firewall is a piece of network security software or hardware that screens and controls incoming and outgoing traffic based on security rules defined in advance. Acting as a filter between trusted internal networks and untrusted external networks (such as the internet), firewalls take a key role in blocking intrusions, malware attacks, and data breaches.
